Happy Mother's Day! May 14th

We spent the first part of the day at home.  Well my daughter and I did.  My son-in-law brought home breakfast from Friendly's Restaurant and then brought Gideon to church with his family.  My daughter and I had breakfast (cinnamon bun pancakes) and set to work on a cleaning binge.  She managed to mess up her shoulder yesterday and my hand is still not completely better so we didn't get as much done as we would have liked but there is much improvement.  My son-in-law came back after dropping off Gideon and helped too.  Later in the day we brought Chinese food to my daughter's in-laws home and had a nice visit and a game with them.  Is there a word for what their relation to me is?

During the day I had a nice long chat with my son and caught up with him.  He has been working with his father in Texas on a special project and is looking forward to that being finished so he can find something else.  It sounds like he has enjoyed working with his dad though, and that is good.

It was a nice Mother's Day, laughter and friends and family are my happy things today.

I took this picture of Gideon after we got home (technically Monday).  He walked from the car and up to the room.  I went downstairs so I could take my medications and came up to him asleep.  We all get to sleep in!  :)

Saturday the 13th of May--short

It has been long day and I feel I got very little done for the exhaustion that I have.  A friend and I tried to get repairs done at the house but I lost a part.  By the time I got a replacement and a few other things it was time to go.  After I joined my daughter and a bunch of friends who were having a sewing afternoon.  It was nice to visit with people, but I did get a little stir crazy watching everyone else do things.  We all went out to dinner.  Then I left to ice my hand and get some sleep.

Today my happy things are the blooming plants in my yard.

Friday, the 12th of May

Gideon is off with his mom tonight visiting friends.  He may be back in time to post a Vlog, or he may not.  Even with my hand aching, I prefer to type right now.  I don't think the vlog thing is working well for me.  Anyhow, Gideon and I started the day off being silly which is always a wonderful way to start a day.  My daughter decided to take her creative energy and live stream it on Facebook today and I went to work.  In an attempt to bring strength back into my arm I used it to drive some.  It didn't take very long for things to start tingling, but longer than I thought it would.  That is a good sign.  My thumb went numb for a few minutes while I was working, I have no idea why.  I can't leave it in any one place for too long, at the same time, I can't move it too much at a time without the tingling starting,
This evening I stopped in at Craft Night to see a friend who knows a bunch about herbal remedies and the such and talked with her about the Rhus Toxin.  She thinks it is a bad idea for me.  I did research it a little today and didn't find any real negatives for it.

On the way home today I went in search of a particular bike trail.  I found it and walked about 10 feet in and that was it, dinner was in the car waiting me. Unfortunately the sign I was hoping to find putting a name to the trail wasn't there.  Another day I will have to look further.

My happy for today is Gideon giggles and fun.

May 11th

Last year when I started this blog it was just for a happy of the day.  This year was supposed to include that and my prepping to hike the AT.  Then I was injured at work and the AT will wait until next spring. This blog has become more of a short journal that is still containing a happy thing every day (mostly) and I am trying to include a picture as well.  As my hand improves I hope to write more again.  Although I have been doing stretches every day, I am not sure I have been doing enough of them.  I am not supposed to continue if the tingling starts and until a few days ago it was pretty consistent and persistent.  Today the Occupational Therapist told me I should try sleeping without the splint on.  My skin will be thankful.  :)

Also today my friend and I did a couple of Exchequer errands together.  We paid a bill and checked out storage units for all the stuff the Barony has.  After lunch I went to work training someone for a little bit.  I practiced driving for more than a few seconds using my injured arm and it takes longer to start tingling than it used to, but still does.  Turning the key on is still a problem too.  Better, but not there yet.

A package arrived today from my cousin with the homeopathic drug she thinks will help.  I have done minor research so far.  It is called Rhus Toxin and is derived from Poison Ivy.  It should relieve symptoms such as pain with arthritis, sciatica, and skin problems.  I am considering trying it.

Happiness today brought to you by healing and the beauty in clouds.

The 10th of May-Vlog

As I drove back from my house to my daughter's today I got off the highway and took a sort of random back road.  I basically headed in a direction that was sort of north and kept going until my GPS stopped telling me to turn around.  At one point I reached the top of a hill and I could see for miles.  The top of the capitol building way down below and hills beyond.  It was truly lovely and is my happy for today.

The paper whites and lily of the valley are starting to come up in my yard.  I will miss these things when I sell my house.  ðŸŒ¼

Tuesday the 9th of May

This morning I had a lovely walk from the park & ride to a restaurant down the street where I met a friend for breakfast.  I had the apple caramel French toast, yum.  After we drowned ourselves in the Exchequer business of spreadsheets (for the local SCA group).  About 3 hours later we popped our heads up and realized it was time for my Occupational Therapy appointment.  When we came back from that we had leftovers for lunch and then dove back in to the spreadsheet reports for another 4 hours.  Now I have had dinner and watched some Star Trek and I keep falling asleep trying to get my thoughts down.

For today my happy is spending time with a friend and that my hand is showing some minor improvement.

These are suspended over a walkway, maybe I will get a picture from the underside tomorrow.

 This mornings sky.

And then there is this.
