The 3rd of September--Harper's day 3

It has been a long, rainy day.   I have spent a bunch of time in the kitchen doing dishes this event.   It has become a challenge at this point to figure out the best way to place the cups and plates and bowls etc so that they don't fall out of the trays (and clog the system) or turn over in the trays (and come out very sanitized but not clean filled with water).  Every once in a while I get it close.

The results for all the competitions were announced at court this afternoon.  The bardic was last night and there were marshal activities over the weekend as well.  My daughter won the bardic competition.   She is the Baronial Bard until next year when there will be another competition which she will organize.  Throughout the year she may be asked to perform at Baronial things.  I think I posted her performances yesterday.   She missed the court due to family responsibilities off site so Gideon and I accepted in her stead.  I recorded most of that.  We tried to keep her award a secret but eventually she had to be told.   She kept asking who won and nobody seemed to be able to remember.   When one of the people came into the room who chose her as the winner,  we had to let her know then.   She was very surprised.

Soon the children's bardic circle will start... not a competition.   My daughter and her husband are running that.  They go home tonight and I stay til tomorrow to help clean up after the event.  I haven't slept well the past 2 nights, I am hoping for better tonight.
An impromptu puppet show put on by some kids.

Court

After court when my daughter got her award.

I am posting early while I await the children's bardic.  My happy for today is that my daughter won the bardic competition.
