The 12th of September

Thank you, K., for your comment!!
This morning, I could tell I was not on -what I was hoping to be- my morning routine by where the sun was in the sky.  Thankfully I still made it to work on time.  After work I was talking with 2 of the teachers and it turns out that one of them was home-schooled and I know her mom.  She was there around the same time my son was, my daughter is a little older.  So we spent some time comparing some of the people we know in common.  Small world.

I went shopping for work clothes again this afternoon.  Seems that I am way too picky about what I want (and too cheap).  Because the day was getting shorter, Gideon and I got dropped off at a plaza so I could do some more shopping and then we walked home from there.  The plan had been to play Pokemon Go on the walk home but his iPad doesn't have it on there. 😲  Instead he was going to play Ingress but he forgot his password.  So we ran short races all the way home.  'Race you to the second bench!'  'Race you to the light pole!'  Which worked until we raced the walk signal and tried to do the diagonal along the crosswalks.  Gideon tripped on something unknown, grabbed my hand tighter as he went down and I couldn't stop fast enough and his knee got just a little scrape (no blood) and the top of my fingernail broke off (yes blood).  We were almost home at that point.  Fun was had, despite the fall.  Typing without one finger is easy compared to what it was like earlier this year when I was having so many problems with that same hand.

Today marks 3 years since my son and I started our climb up Mt Washington.  The climb that brought me the northern lights (cool site someone posted the other day) and Lenticular Clouds.  My father would be 84 today and his twin is 84 today.  The climb up Mt Washington is what rekindled my desire to hike the Appalachian Trail.  What I need to work on now is feeding that fire.  Today my happy is memories, goals and running like I am 5 again.

About twilight time on our walk.
