September the 6th

For some reason Gideon brought up Groundhog Day tonight.  I seem to remember the saying concerning the shadow to be something like this--If the groundhog sees his shadow on this day then there will be 6 more weeks of winter, if he does not, then there will be 6 more weeks until spring.  The Wikipedia page has a slightly different definition.  The Wiki also goes into percentages that the groundhog's predictions are accurate.  I think that is why their definition is a little different than mine.  My definition means the same thing, so the creature would be accurate 100% of the time... unless of course Summer decided to show up super early.  😜

After work today I picked up Gideon to run errands and hang with me so that his parents could go to a movie.  We stopped for supper at a local diner where they handed out paper for kids to color.  Gideon noticed one hanging by itself.  It was blue, white and red.   He commented on it a few times but eventually came to the conclusion that the artist wanted it to resemble the Flag of France,  This is my happy for today, that my 5 year old grandshog can identify a flag from another country.

Sorry, no pics.
